PDHFHS Awarded the Agnes Chalker Cultural Award

2022 Recipient – Picton and District Historical and Family History Society was awarded this year’s Agnes Chalker Cultural award at the Thirlmere Festival of Steam.

In accepting, Vice President Kate Holmes thanked the Festival and the Chalker family and dedicated the Award to all the hard working members past and present including life members Jan Ross, Helen Hanger, Diane Irwin and John Ruffels. Agnes herself was a foundation member and supporter of the Society and had a particular interest and love for the history of Thirlmere, the arts and tourism.

The $150 prize money will help with the Society’s progression into the digital era of archiving. Society volunteers are at the Local Studies Room of the Wollondilly Library, Picton each Thursday and invite you to visit if you would like to either research or volunteer in helping preserve our local history.

GREAT WORK TEAM !!
