Marriage Transcripts

St Mark’s Anglican Church (prepared by the Society from various sources)

Vol 1, 1839-1897. A4, 57p. A full transcription of all marriages conducted by ministers throughout the Parish which at times covered much of southern Wollondilly Shire.

Vol 2, 1898-1929. A4 62p. Includes a register for marriages conducted at Yerranderie from 1911 to 1923.

Vol 3. 1924-1963. A4 99p. Includes  Register for St Alban’s at Douglas Park from 1924 to 1957. Includes master index for all marriages showing groom and bride and date of marriage for the 3 volumes.

The 13 registers that form part of the three above volumes have now been added to our Digital Archive. Society Members can search these registers and view full details of the bride, groom, parents, witnesses, place of birth and residence and occupations as recorded by the Minister at time of Marriage

A selection of the original registers of S.A. Warters, Undertaker of Picton relating to the Church of England Cemetery, Upper Picton and the Church of England section and General Section of Thirlmere Public Cemetery.

Upper Picton

Subscriptions List – towards repairing fences and laying out walks etc in Upper Picton Cemetery – February 1893 and 20 October 1894  – 34 names.

Fees received for graves, kerbing etc – covers period 15 June 1893 to 8 June 1897. Gives name of deceased and name of person ordering the kerbing.

Stake Numbers for graves “General Interments” for period 15 June 1893 to 16 February 1913. Provides name of deceased.  Grave number and section number to 28 September 1899.

Stake Numbers for graves from “The Home” (Queen Victoria Memorial Hospital – formerly Goodlet’s TB Home). Titled : ‘Interments from Thirlmere “Home”’. For the period 8 June 1893 to 15 March 1897. Provides name of deceased, stake number, where buried – all in sections 1 and 2.
